Personal Vintage Sourcing

Most vintage pieces are one-of-a-kind, which means the right one rarely arrives in the shop the day you start looking. Lumont's personal sourcing service exists for exactly that reason — a quieter, more considered way of finding a specific piece, without trawling listings or auctions yourself. This letter is a short, practical guide to how it works and what to expect.

What can be sourced

Vintage lighting — Italian table lamps, Murano glass, Tommaso Barbi-style pieces, sconces and small pendants. Sculptural decorative objects in ceramic and glass. Tabletop pieces such as silver-plated serving, ice buckets, butter dishes and small objects with quiet character. Seasonal pieces such as Easter pyramids and candleholders. Most briefs sit in this territory; if your brief sits outside it, Lumont will say so honestly.

How a brief works

A good brief is a few honest lines. Describe what you have in mind — designer or style, era, colour, approximate size, budget, timeline — and add a couple of reference images if they help. The more openly you describe the mood you are after, the better the proposals tend to be.

From there Lumont searches across a trusted network of European dealers, estates and auctions built over years of working with vintage interiors, and comes back with a curated handful of options — photos, measurements, condition notes and an all-in price (sourcing, packing and insured shipping from Copenhagen).

What it costs

Sending a brief is free. If Lumont finds the right piece and you decide to buy, the quoted price is all-in: sourcing, handling and insured shipping. There are no upfront fees and no obligation to buy if nothing in the proposal feels right.

Where to start

Send a short brief from the sourcing page and Lumont will reply within a day or two. If a specific piece in the shop is already sold and you would like something similar, mention the product title — that is often the fastest brief of all.
